No "we value your privacy" throat-clearing. Here's the actual list, in the order that matters.
We don't ask you to make an account. We don't sell your data — not as a policy position, just as a fact about a business that has no data worth selling. The only thing you ever hand us directly is an email address, and only if you type one into the waitlist box.
Google's ad system and our affiliate network both use cookies, and those are the parts you might actually want to opt out of. Links for that are below.
Your email address, if you enter it in the waitlist form. It's sent to us via Resend (an email delivery service) and lands in our inbox. We use it to tell you when we launch. We don't sell it, rent it, or hand it to anyone else. Ask us to delete it and we will, same day.
Anything you email us. Obviously. Our mail runs through Cloudflare Email Routing to a Google-hosted inbox.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-focused by design: it sets no cookies, doesn't fingerprint you, and doesn't track you across other sites. We see aggregate numbers — pages viewed, rough country, referrer. We can't see you as an individual and we don't want to.
We run Google AdSense on parts of this site. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites.
Ads are deliberately kept off our gear buying guides — see our disclosure for why.
When you click a product link on one of our guides, the retailer (or our affiliate network, Sovrn Commerce) sets a cookie so they know the visit came from us and can pay a commission if you buy. That cookie identifies us as the referrer. We never see your order, your payment details, your address, or what you bought — we see an aggregate count of clicks and, eventually, a commission total.
As an Amazon Associate, the same applies to Amazon links.
This site is served through Cloudflare, which processes request data (including IP address) to route traffic and block attacks. That's infrastructure, not marketing.
Depending on where you live — California (CCPA/CPRA), the EU/UK (GDPR), and a growing list of US states — you have the right to ask what we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, or have it deleted, and to not be discriminated against for asking.
Practically speaking, the only thing we're likely to hold is an email address. Email hello@shopcoffee.com and say what you want done. We'll do it and confirm, without making you prove anything unreasonable.
For the ad and affiliate cookies, we're not the ones holding that data — use the opt-out links above, which reach the companies that actually have it.
This site is for adults buying coffee equipment. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we'll delete it.
If we add something that collects data, this page gets updated before it ships, with the date below changed. We're not going to quietly broaden it and hope nobody re-reads.
